An accounting firm built around the awkward parts
Neo Finance is the accounting practice of the Neo group. We keep books, file taxes and produce reporting for owner-managed UAE businesses across most sectors — with deeper specialisms where the accounting stops being generic.
Neo Finance is the accounting practice of the Neo group. It exists because the group's legal side kept meeting the same problem from the other direction: clients whose legal position was sound and whose numbers were not, and transactions, licence renewals and lease negotiations that ran into difficulty for want of records rather than for want of advice.
What we are
An accounting firm. We keep books, close months, file taxes, run payroll, prepare financial statements and produce the reporting that owners and boards actually use. We work for owner-managed UAE businesses rather than for listed groups, and the engagements are led by people who know the business rather than routed through a queue.
What we are not
We are not a registered audit firm and we do not issue audit opinions. Our licence settles that: Neo Finance is licensed for the professional activity of Accounting & Bookkeeping (6920003), which covers designing accounting systems, documents, records, books and documentary cycles — and which expressly does not permit the examination or auditing of accounts.
It also happens to be the right structure. An audit is worth something precisely because it is independent of the people who prepared the accounts. So we prepare thoroughly, appoint an independent UAE-registered auditor, and manage the audit to completion. See audit support.
We are also not lawyers. Where an accounting question turns out to be a lease dispute, a shareholder exit, a licensing application or an employment matter, it goes to Neo Legal — which is considerably better than an accountant answering it.
Why retail
Because it is under-served and unusually technical. A very large share of UAE commerce happens inside shopping malls, and the businesses trading there face a set of problems generic bookkeeping never addresses: a landlord with a contractual right to read your sales, five settlement channels arriving on five timetables, rent that moves with turnover, and a lease definition of "gross turnover" that decides how much of it you pay. Most accountants can process a retailer's transactions. Far fewer can read the clause.
So we built the practice around it — mall store accounting, turnover certificates, POS reconciliation, multi-store groups — and act for tenants only, never for the landlords on the other side of those declarations.
How we hold ourselves
- Fixed fees against a written scope. You should know what this costs before it starts, and the number should not move because a month was busy.
- A named person. Someone who knows your business, not a support address.
- A close on a fixed date. Information in the first week of the month, when it can still change a decision.
- Plain answers. Including "you do not need us yet", "that election will cost you money", and "this store is not working".
- We will not file something we know to be wrong. That protects you rather than restricts you — a knowingly incorrect filing turns a compliance problem into a much more serious one.

About the firm — frequently asked questions
They are separate practices within the Neo group — Neo Legal is the group's UAE legal practice, Neo Finance the accounting practice. The point of the pairing is that a client does not have to work out whether their problem is an accounting one or a legal one before choosing who to ask. Engagements, files and fees are separate; the working relationship is not.
Owner-managed businesses, broadly from a single store or a one-person consultancy up to groups running several dozen locations or entities. Below that, we will often tell you that you do not need us yet and what to do instead. Above it, a business with an internal finance team usually needs specific support — CFO input, technical accounting, transaction work — rather than full outsourcing, and we scope accordingly.
No — tenants only, in shopping-centre matters. Turnover declarations, service charge reviews and lease renewals put the two sides directly at odds, and a tenant should not have to ask whose interests its accountant is also serving.
