Abu Dhabi Global Market is a common-law financial free zone on Al Maryah Island, with its own companies regulations, approved auditor register and FSRA reporting for regulated firms.

ADGM has grown well beyond financial services, with a substantial population of holding companies, family offices, funds and, increasingly, virtual-asset businesses regulated by the FSRA. Each brings a different reporting profile, but the common requirements are consistent: IFRS financial statements, audit by a firm on the ADGM's approved register, and for regulated entities the periodic returns and capital adequacy monitoring that draw directly on the accounting records.

For family offices and holding structures, the substantive work is usually consolidation, intercompany discipline and participation exemption analysis rather than regulatory reporting. For virtual-asset firms it is accounting policy, wallet reconciliation and the client-asset question.

ADGM is a free zone for federal Corporate Tax purposes, so QFZP status is potentially available subject to the usual conditions. See DIFC and ADGM accounting.

ADGM — frequently asked questions

Who can audit an ADGM company?

A firm on ADGM's register of approved auditors. Appointing an auditor who is not on the register means the report will not satisfy the requirement, which is a genuinely expensive mistake because it is usually discovered at filing. Neo Finance prepares the financial statements and the audit file and appoints an approved auditor on your behalf; we are an accounting firm and do not perform audits ourselves.

Can an ADGM holding company access the 0% Corporate Tax rate?

Potentially, as a Qualifying Free Zone Person, but the conditions all have to be met — adequate substance in the zone, income falling within the qualifying categories, non-qualifying revenue within the de minimis limits, transfer pricing compliance and audited financial statements. Holding activities are treated in a specific way within the qualifying framework, and the analysis depends on the entity's actual income mix rather than on its stated purpose. It is worth establishing deliberately rather than assuming.

Do you work with businesses outside your listed locations?

Yes. We act for clients across all seven emirates and in every major free zone; the location pages cover the areas we are asked about most, not the limits of where we work. Cloud accounting makes physical proximity largely irrelevant — what matters is knowledge of the UAE regime and of your sector.

Based in ADGM?

Tell us the licence type, roughly how many transactions a month and where things stand. We will scope the work and quote a fixed monthly fee.
